The imminent debut of the PS5 Pro has generated excitement among gamers, particularly due to its promise of enhancement patches for numerous existing titles. With the launch date on the horizon, information concerning the capabilities and supported games have started to emerge.
According to a report from Cnet, it has been revealed that around 40 to 50 games will be available with enhancement patches when the PS5 Pro makes its debut in November. This information came from a hands-on session that showcased the console's potential to elevate the gaming experience for many popular titles.
During the Technical Presentation for the PS5 Pro, which was held on September 10, several beloved titles showcased improved visuals. Games such as Gran Turismo 7, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, and Marvel's Spider-Man 2 were highlighted, displaying superior image clarity and enhanced gameplay performance. These refinements include a noticeable increase in resolution, enhanced performance metrics, and improved detail in the furthest reaches of the scenery.
Mark Cerny, the principal system architect behind the PS5 Pro, emphasized that one of the design objectives is to create a seamless blend between visual fidelity and performance modes, ensuring players enjoy the best characteristics from both. The showcased demonstrations appear to be in strong agreement with this vision>
While the complete roster of games receiving these enhancement patches has yet to be disclosed, the official PS5 Pro landing page has shared several titles, such as Demon's Souls, Gran Turismo 7, Horizon Forbidden West, Until Dawn, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart and The Last of Us Part I, and The Last of Us Part 2. Additionally, games that have been upgraded will be marked with a special indicator to signify the availability of a patch.
The exact sizes of these enhancement patches remain uncertain, although expectations lean towards them being quite substantial. Thankfully, the PS5 Pro comes equipped with an impressive 2TB of internal storage, ensuring it can handle the extra content effectively.
Scheduled for a worldwide launch on November 7, the PS5 Pro will also begin accepting pre-orders on September 26 at PlayStation Direct, along with a selection of major retail outlets.
